Floating Alligator 6
Make a dramatic architectural statement on your water features with our artisan-sculpted, hyper-realistic 6-foot floating alligator decoy.
Bring the thrilling, untamed presence of a real apex predator to your outdoor spaces with the Universal Rocks Floating Alligator 6 (GATOR6-SMILE). Affectionately known in-house as our "Big Smiley Gator," this substantial 6-foot model features an organic, sweeping tail curve that beautifully mimics a massive alligator cutting silently through the water line.
Artisan Carved & Handcrafted in the USA:
Like its popular smaller brother, the Big Smiley boasts an incredible craftsmanship pedigree. The master mold was cast directly from a highly intricate original sculpture hand-carved by a talented local artist. This process ensures that every deep plate layout, sharp eye-ridge, and lifelike skin wrinkle has an authentic, custom-sculpted soul. Each unit is individually poured and hand-colored at our facility using real crushed stone materials to blend flawlessly into natural backyard environments.
Whether stationed as an unexpected focal point in a neighborhood lake, floating alongside our grotto waterfalls in a luxury swimming pool, or creating a wild backdrop for a backyard koi pond, this float commands attention. It is constructed from a specialized composite material that is entirely non-toxic and 100% safe for valuable koi, goldfish, plants, and chlorinated or saltwater systems.
The Wildlife & Heron Deterrent Factor:
While many property owners use our floating reptiles as visual decoys to help intimidate hungry blue herons, egrets, or other fish-snacking birds, our real-world pond testing shows that the local fish quickly learn it's a safe zone! You'll love watching your koi swim right alongside its massive polymer frame without a care in the world, providing endless entertainment for your family and guests.
Discreet Underbelly Anchoring System:
To prevent your alligator from drifting into pool skimmer openings or traveling down a large shoreline, it comes equipped with a heavy-duty anchor loop molded cleanly directly into its underbelly. Simply tie a clear monofilament fishing line or weather-resistant cord to the hidden loop, attach a weighted block or stone, and sink it to the bottom of your water feature to keep it perfectly positioned while allowing it to sway naturally with the breeze.
Important Shipping & Sun Acclimation Note:
To minimize shipping box volumes and save you from excessive freight fees, this large alligator ships conveniently folded. When it arrives, simply lay the piece out flat in the direct, warm sunlight on a driveway, deck, or patio. The solar heat will naturally relax the flexible polymer material, allowing it to spring smoothly back into its original, 6-foot sculpted swimming form. *(Note: Depending on the season and outdoor temperature when ordered, this acclimation process can take a little extra time).*
*All measurements are approximate. Because our water features are cast from custom artisan sculptures and individually hand-colored, minor variations in total weight, surface thickness, and exact color shading are completely natural.*

1. Position Your Weighted Anchor:
Select your desired floating location inside your pool, pond, or lake canvas. Obtain a heavy rock, masonry brick, or standard fishing weight to act as your underwater anchor.
2. Tie the Sub-Surface Line:
Flip the alligator over to locate the heavy-duty polymer anchoring loop embedded under its belly. Tie a length of rot-resistant outdoor string, nylon cord, or standard clear monofilament fishing line securely to the loop.
3. Set the Depth and Deploy:
Tie the opposite end of the line to your weighted anchor block. Ensure you leave enough line slack to accommodate normal water line rises and minor surface currents. Drop the weight to the bottom of the basin and place the alligator flat onto the water surface. The unit will immediately find its ideal structural floating balance.
4. Seasonal Upkeep:
To maintain its lifelike realism, simply lift the decoy out of the water occasionally and wipe or spray away any natural pond algae or mineral buildup using a standard garden hose or soft-bristle brush.
