Lightweight, non-toxic, hollow rock shapes tailored for habitat enrichment.
Transform your reptile configurations with the breathtaking, organic detail of Universal Rocks premium artificial boulders. Molded directly from real stone formations, these interior accent pieces replicate authentic cliff-side contours and deep crevices. They provide magnificent climbing surfaces and physical enrichment for active monitors, snakes, bearded dragons, and geckos without adding thousands of pounds of floor-cracking real weight to your vivarium arrays.
Basking Thermal Bank & Insulation: Ectothermic species thrive on stable thermal gradients. Our structures excel at absorbing overhead ambient energy from heat lamps, acting as a natural thermal mass for reptiles to stretch out and bask on. Additionally, our dry habitat models feature a protective backing of industrial 3lb closed-cell structural spray foam. This compound serves as a remarkable insulation blanket—crucial for reducing energy costs and maintaining safe thermal zones inside large custom setups or outdoor enclosures for tortoises, iguanas, and tropical monitors.
Hollow Design for Custom Hides: Security is essential for lowering animal stress. Because these premium rock casts are hollow, they can easily be transformed into cave hideaways. Hobbyists and breeders can cleanly cut custom access portals directly into the side wall using standard household cutting tools.
Chemically Inert & Safe
Our specialized production process ensures that the finished, fully cured polymer material is completely inert and non-toxic. Safe for humid enclosures, burrowing species, and sensitive glass environments.

Modification Guidelines
Because each item is individually hand-sprayed by our fabrication team, the wall thickness along the bottom edges varies naturally. This creates a highly adaptable, flat margin that can easily be tailored to fit your specific dry habitat layout:
1. Simple Cave Modifications
To convert our hollow accent rocks into high-security shelters, score and cut an access crawl hole into the side wall. Use a standard straight-edge knife for smaller models, or a reciprocating saw (Sawzall) to cruise through larger structural profiles.
2. Deep Substrate Integration
Position the rock base directly on your enclosure floor before adding bedding. Pack your orchid bark, coco coir, soil, or desert sand around the bottom margins to anchor it firmly and create an unbroken geological look.
Structural Notice
These decorative models are built completely hollow and are explicitly designed for dry layouts. They will float if submerged in open water pools.
Terrarium Specifications & FAQ
Interior sizing rules, thermal protection, and customization guidelines.
To make sure your new layout fits perfectly, you need to check both your enclosure and the rock using this simple breakdown:
- For your enclosure: Always grab a tape measure and check the actual inside of your tank. Don't rely on the standard dimensions printed on a fish tank box, as those are external measurements and don't account for glass thickness or structural frame lips.
- To make sure the rock fits your tank: Compare your enclosure's internal space against the rock's EXTERNAL dimensions. The rock physically needs to clear your tank's opening and fit inside the footprint of the enclosure.
- If you are creating a hide/shelter: If you are planning to cut an access hole into the rock so your reptile can use it as a cave, then look closely at the rock's INTERNAL dimensions. Because our rocks are hand-sprayed and naturally sloped, you'll want to verify that the internal cavity constrictions leave enough room for your animal to comfortably curl up inside.
It's incredibly effective. The 3lb high-density closed-cell spray foam we apply along the interior walls functions like an insulation blanket. If you have large tortoises or iguanas housed in external sheds or outdoor nocturnal shelters, placing these hollow rocks over heating pads or air lines stops freezing external ambient winter drafts from creeping into your comfort zones, helping to stabilize vital hot spots.
Yes. Ectothermic reptiles depend heavily on belly heat for proper digestion. Our specialized polymer shells safely absorb radiant warmth from standard overhead terrarium lights and ceramic heaters without melting or cracking. They function beautifully as natural thermal banks for your animals to bask on comfortably.
Absolutely. Our artificial rocks are 100% waterproof, non-porous, and stable. They are completely safe for tropical rain forest setups, high-humidity misting systems, and frequent hand-washing or disinfection cycles without rotting or breaking down over time.
